Central Florida Christian Downs Geneva In 2A Quarterfinal
Central Florida Christian got rolling with their first swings in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back to roll to an 11-1 win over Geneva in a 2A-4 quarterfinal on Monday afternoon. The Eagles (15-6-1) pounded out 11 hits while holding the Knights to just a pair of singles from Austin Manuel.
Second-seeded Central Florida Christian advances to the semifinals to face Master’s Academy in the district semifinals. The Patriots advanced with a 6-3 win over the Brevard HEAT in another quarterfinal on Monday.
Luke Noah paced the offense by going 3-for-3 with two runs, and he also had a sacrifice-flyout RBI to drive in five runs overall. Nick Peterson and Andrew McCabe paced the offensive attack from the top two slots in the batting order, and both finished 2-for-3 and tallied five runs combined. Trey Jordan chipped in with a double and three RBIs, while also earning the win with three shutout innings in which he struck out nine and allowed just one base runner.
