Hagerty, West Orange and Bishop Moore won their regional finals Tuesday to advance to the state final four next week in Fort Myers.
Joe Sheridan struck out 10 in a complete-game performance to lead Hagerty past Seminole Ridge 4-0. It’s the first trip to state for the Huskies (22-6).
West Orange won its first regional title as it beat Orange City University 3-0 to move on to the state semifinals where the Warriors (27-2) will take on Douglas (25-2) at 10 a.m. May 20th.
Bishop Moore topped The Villages 9-2, scoring in every inning but the sixth to reach the state final four for the first time since 2012. The Hornets (20-10) are going for their first state title since 2007 and third in school history.
Alonso edged Gateway 2-1 to end the Panthers’ season at 11-9.
