Ridge Rallies for Comeback Win Over Four Corners
The Ridge Bolts have been scoring runs aplenty to begin the 2024 season. Through the first five games Ridge has averaged over eight runs per game, and that trend continued with a 16-8 win over the Four Corners Coyotes on Tuesday.
The Bolts (4-1) connected for 18 hits to rally back from a three-run deficit and instead turn it into their third straight win. It is the second time this season they have defeated the Coyotes (3-3), after also winning 6-1 at their field in February.
Every offensive starter reached base to contribute to the win for Ridge. Sebastian Ortiz picked up the victory on the mound, but he also led the way at the plate by going 4-for-4 with a double and three runs. Deniel Serrano went 3-for-3 with a walk, a triple, three RBI and a run, and Omir Santos also had three hits by going 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run.
The Coyotes also did not have trouble putting the bat on the ball, connecting for seven hits and building themselves a 6-3 advantage with five runs in the fourth and another in the fifth. Nicholas Infante reached base all four trips to the plate to lead the way, as he went 2-for-3 with a walk and also reached on an error. He scored three runs.
Alexis Quinones also had multiple hits for the Coyotes, going 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBI. Cameron Morgan added to the cause by driving in two runs by going 1-for-4 with a double.
But the Bolts got going in the bottom of the fifth inning, and erupted for eight runs to completely reverse their fortunes. Four Corners kept swinging to stay in it, answering back with a run in each of the final two frames after they fell behind. But ultimately the deficit proved too large.
